I’m not an HR professional, but today I’d like to share some insights I gained from reviewing CVs and conducting interviews on how to write an effective CV, particularly for IT roles. This advice is tailored to help you create a CV that stands out in the IT industry.

There’s no universal rule for shortlisting CVs, but recruiters often follow a few general steps:
- Summarize the CV: A quick glance at the overall profile and based on that a candidate can be come in sorted list.
- Match Job Criteria: Check if the candidate’s experience aligns with the job requirements.
- Review Work History: Focus on relevant roles, responsibilities, and accomplishments.
- Evaluate Skills: Look for technical skills specific to the job.
- Assess Education: While important, education often comes after experience and skills.
So when you writing of your CV you should keep it on your memory, how you get sorted?

1. Place BIO Data Last:
Most organizations post jobs to meet a specific need, so focus your CV on what you can offer in terms of skills and experience. Avoid starting with personal information — save it for the end.

Educational qualifications are typically not a top priority for initial screening. List your education details toward the end of your CV, after your professional experience and skill sections.
3. Highlight Experience First:
Begin with your work experience, especially if you have relevant experience. List your previous roles, projects, and technologies used in each position. If you’re a fresher, showcase relevant projects or internships, specifying the types of work you’ve done and the technologies you’ve applied.
4. List Your Skills Thoroughly:
Following your experience, create a skills section. List each skill related to the job you’re applying for, and highlight those most relevant to the role. Emphasize technical proficiencies and tools that align with the job description.
